#70 Letter

Dear English 110 student,

    Welcome to English 110. I know the name of the course is english, but it is really a writing course. You will do more writing, editing, revising and blogging than you have done in any english course before. Be prepared for anything. You will be doing a little bit of everything. I have written just about everything this quarter. I have become a much more skilled writer and writing has definitely become easier. Writing every day makes you come up with new ways to look at things and new ways to get started on assignments.
    I do have a few tips for those of you about to embark on your english 110 journey. My first recommendation would be to choose a course focused on a topic that you are interested in. I didn’t know that there were any choices for what the class would be about. I don’t have anything against syfy, but I don’t watch any syfy shows and I probably would have chosen a different topic. My biggest suggestion once you are in english 110 though is to keep up on all of what you are asked to do. There are a lot of blogs and individually they don’t have much weight, but if you miss too many of them, they really add up. The blog project could make or break your grade, and in the long run they are free points. Also, make use of the writing center. The writing center did wonders for the quality of my papers.
